James and the Giant Peach” by Ronald Dahl is a story about James’ life.
In the story, I read about James’ adventures and the many interesting characters he meets.
At first, he lives with his parents and had happy lives. Then, one day, his parents were eaten up by an angry rhinoceros and he has to live with his two horrible aunts. James’
Aunts treat him badly, they ask him to do all the housework. They also did not give him any food to eat only some scrapes. Then, one day, James accidentally drops a bag of
Magic crystals that an old man gives him. Suddenly, a tree grows and bears a giant peach. James saw a hole and he goes in. He then meets several creatures, such as ladybird, miss spider, silkworm, glow-worm, old-green-grasshopper, centipede and earthworm. All of a sudden, the peach drops off the tree and squashes James’ aunts. The peach rolls into the ocean and James and his insects friends starts on their adventures. They meet many dangers but each time they are saving by James’ cleverness.
I really enjoyed reading this book. There are all kinds of interesting and funny situations. I like all the creatures in the peach. They are so cute! I think most of the children at my age and those who are older or younger than me will love to read this book too.
