James & the Giant Peach

Movie review by: Caius Cheong, 4KI

I would recommend this movie because I think kids of my age will enjoy it.

The visual effects were excellent.

My two favorite scenes were :

1) the giant peach crushing the car of the two aunts and

2) when they got hit by the cloud rhinoceros and ended at the Empire State Building.

I like mixing real life filming of James with computer enhanced imagery. I prefer watching to reading the plot of the movie.

This story captures many funny and adrenaline rushing scenes.

I like this movie as it is interesting.

The director, Henry slick, did a good job on filming it.

James and the Giant Peach is film based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name. It was produced by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick, the movie is a combination of live action and stop motion. The film was created in 1996 and was written by Karey Kirkpatrick.

I love this movie because it is a story full of adventure. It also teaches us about friendship.

The visual effects were good. One of my two favourite scenes was when miss ladybird used her handbag to hit the robotic shark because it was very funny. Another of my favourite part was when all the creatures tried to save the caterpillar from drowning because it taught us how to
co-operate and work together.

I loved mixing real life filming of James with computer enhanced imagery. I prefer the movie, , to the book , ,because there will be some words which I will not be able to understand in the book. This story captures a story about James and the Giant Peach. James led a very happy life at first. After his parents died, he stayed with his aunts and led a miserable life. They treated him as their servant. They made him wash the dishes, sweep the floor, massage for them and many others. He even had to eat fish head bone for his dinner! I pity with him a lot. The aunts were so cold-blooded! James had a dream that he wanted to go to the Empire State Building and he got on the Empire State Building finally. I will recommend this movie as it is nice and interesting. The director, Henry Selick, as it is a very pleasant movie. did a good job

I like this movie because I was very amazed how big can the peach grow. My two favourite scenes were when the big firce metal shark coming after the Giant Peach and the part where the giant peach pierced through the pointed part of the Empire State Building.

I one thing dislike about “JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH” is because it mixes real life filming of James with computer enhanced imagery. I prefer real life by itself.

James and the giant peach
Review by: Javier tan Dexun

James and the Giant peach is a film based on Roald Dahl book of the same name. It was produced by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick, The movie is a combination of live action and stop-motion. The film was created in 1996 an was written by Karey Kirkpatrick.

I like this movie because it has a lot of cartoon animations and a lot of insects.
The visual effects were amazing. My two favourite scenes were when the robotic shark attack them and they attack back and when the rhinoceros appeared in the clouds and James stood up like a hero and face his fear. I like mixing real life filming of James with computer enhanced imagery. I prefer real life to computer imagery. This story captures magical things and other effects. I like this movie as I was able to see NYC in real life. The director, Henry Selick, did a good job.

James and the Giant Peach

James and the Giant Peach is a film based on Roald Dahl’s book of the same name. It was produced by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick. The movie is a combination of live action and stop-motion. The film was created in 1996 and was written by Karey Kirkpatrick.

I feel that this movie is interesting. The reason why I like this movie is because it has a lot of adventure in it. It is about a boy named James Henry Trotter and Paul Terry is acting as him in the real life filming.

His companions on the journey are a grasshopper, a centipede, a spider, an earthworm, a glow worm, and a ladybug. The visual effects were splendid. My two favourite scenes were when they were chased by a mechanical shark and when James was stuck on top of the Empire State Building. All children except the youngest ones would be delighted by the scene. . It takes place in a time when the Empire State Building was the tallest building in the whole world.

I feel that mixing real life filming of James with computer enhanced imagery is quite a smart idea. I prefer more real life filming of James and a little less computer enhanced imagery.

This story captures my attention when they are in danger. I like this movie as is captures my attention almost every moment. I like it because it is adventurous.

The director, Henry Slick, did a good job in directing the movie. He instructed the actors how to behave and act.
